This painting will spark lots of fond memories for people in my corner of British Columbia.
Balsam Roots look a lot like mini sunflowers. They bloom in May and it feels as though they're smiling upon you, happy to see you after a long winter. They are so abundant in some areas that a local hike in the Kimberley Nature Park, is aptly named Sunflower Hill (one of my favourite loops). And remarkably, the deer don't eat them. I know many locals who mark the turning of the seasons and have deep connection with this underrated, cheerful plant.
The original oil painting was a commission and for my client, the Balsam Root filled hike up Eager Hill in Cranbrook is a place of problem solving, refuge, and peace. It has many memories and a special connection to the people she loves.
All prices are for rolled canvases. I offer canvas stretching/mounting for those who are able to pick up locally. Please contact me at the time of ordering to arrange this.
Stretching is an additional 20% of the print price, to be paid separately.
Limited Edition Archival Canvas Prints
All Canvases are printed with Epson UltraChrome HD Pigment ink technology and are hand glossed with a museum grade UV protective coating.
Epson's UlthraChrome HD Pigment inks have Permanence Ratings well in excess of 200 years when properly protected; the prints exhibit high resistance to atmospheric ozone; have very good water-resistance properties; and, the pigment images are extremely resistant to damage caused by storage or display in high-humidity environments.
Each is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Unless arranged with the artist, prints are rolled and shipped in mailing tubes.
To protect your investment, do not lean anything on it, keep it out of direct sunlight where possible and avoid humid areas.
